The pages on this site describe California law and Bay Area ordinances in general terms, cite their sources, and show the date last reviewed. They are educational and are not legal advice. Laws and ordinances change; check the cited source or ask a California attorney about your situation.

Engagements

  • Every report is performed under a written engagement issued by Urban Forestry Guide that states the scope, fee and limitations. Fees are confirmed in writing before the visit.
  • Reports are visual assessments from the locations stated on the dates stated. Trees change; a report describes the tree on the day it was inspected.
  • Reports do not determine property lines, estimate repair costs, give structural opinions or give legal advice. They identify when those professionals are needed.
  • We do not sell, bid or refer tree work and accept no referral fees.
  • Reports are prepared for the client named in the engagement for the purpose stated. Hourly work is invoiced monthly.
